As you can see am making my morning cereal and we are using my freshly homemade almond milk. I
promise you will never pick one up from the store.
First you soak your almond for 24 hours which makes it nice and soft and plump, also easy to peel. Only if you want to peel which I don’t.
You will wash it until the water runs clear, why is it important, you do not want your almond milk to be dark once its ready. Then am going to go ahead and deseed my dates. Its optional but I like to nipple on the seed.
So, the next step is to just put everything in our blender then go ahead and blend it. Now there’s a ratio in making almond milk. Which is one cup of almonds to four cups of water and you will use water that you are very comfortable drinking, it is very important you do that, you do not want to drink anything that is not good for your health.
Then you are going to strain it first through your mesh strainer. I do this because it makes it easier. I do not have the strength to put in straight into the flour sack cloth and bring it out but if you can then skip this part and go straight to that, also make sure you are not using a strainer that you use to cook your soups or stews, if not your almond milk will taste sour. Then don’t get rid of the, chuff make some almond flour, yes, we do not waste anything. So, at this point we are straining it through the flour, sack cloth. Now if you don’t get dates at where you are, about a tablespoon of sugar will do. So, don’t even stress about that and the salt is also optional, but a pinch goes a long way to enhance the flavor of your milk and it makes it taste so good. So, I make this after my morning walk, its so delicious, you can try especially if you are lactose tolerant this will be perfect for you, it taste so good. Once you are not using it, you keep it your glass jar or container and keep it in the refrigerator it will last for five days. Which it won’t even last that long because it tastes that good.
